NEEd Gelato

NEEd Gelato was established in 2016 by Neeral and Kunaal Shah, a quirky environmentalist - entrepreneur couple aiming to produce the finest gelato on the African continent.

After multiple trips to Rome specifically to indulge in her passion for gelato, Neeral went back to Italy to train under a second generation maestro gelatiere in the Dolomites after which she worked in one of Milan's top 5 artisanal gelaterias putting her freshly acquired theoretical knowledge to the test alongside accomplished colleagues and discerning clients.

Kunaal leveraged his corporate and entrepreneurial experience translating their shared passion into a viable business.

The brand's first flagship gelateria officially opened in Gigiri, Nairobi in June 2021 and was built out of two converted shipping containers in line with its core sustainability principles.

Our artisanal gelato/sorbetto is handcrafted in small batches using the finest quality ingredients carefully sourced (as much as possible locally), free from additives, artificial flavours and colours to produce an end product that mesmerizes your taste buds.
